Did You Know?

75% of all firefighters in the U.S. are unpaid volunteers.

There are approximately 1.1 million volunteer firefighters in U.S.

All 20 members of the Camp Meeker Department are unpaid volunteers from the
           community.

All members are on call 24 hours a day.

For 2001, we logged five times the average amount of training hours for volunteer
           companies in Sonoma County.

There are approximately 60 calls per year, 20% being from Alliance Redwoods and
           Westminster Woods.

A majority of our calls are medical emergencies, followed by problems created from fallen            trees.

92% of our emergency calls are handled with the initial response from one engine and at
           least four firefighters.

On average, we respond to a 911 alarm in 1.5 minutes, and are on scene in 5 minutes.
